Relationship to Other City-States
Thallasa is a city-state similar to Athens. Both Athens and Thallasa have a Democracy for a government, we both use the water for transportation, trade, Navy and military purposes, and for fishing. Athen's and Thallasa's social classes are similar in terms of boys going to school, females staying home with their mothers to learn, and men having to work either in the military or other occupation. Once the boys turn around 18 or 19, both Athens and Thallasa send them to military school for basic training and conditioning. For government, both city-states have a democracy that includes a council of 500 men who discuss the problems of their everyday life. Also, slaves are an important part of our city-state's functionality; they are an important part of the city-states archery division and also did work in fields gathering crops or mining. Athens and Thallasa also share a common rival, Sparta.
Sparta is our rival because, to put it simply, we don't like Sparta, then again, no one likes Sparta. Sparta terrorized, enslaved, and murdered their fellow Greeks. They also weren't very cooperative, so they were of no use to anything whether military-wise or trading. They have harsh requirements and even harsher verdicts. If a baby wasn't healthy it was instantly disposed of, being left for dead in the outskirts of the city. They had children severely injure each other or maybe even kill each other just to graduate school. All in all, Thallasa is nothing like Sparta and never will be. Their coarse ways and perverse attitude does not allow anyone to get close to them. They are of no use to us, yet they are still a formidable enemy.
Our relationship to other city-states are pretty well. Trades with them increase friendship and likely alliances. Plus, the common enemy could help in that department. So long as we don't anger them in any way, our city-state is pretty well-protected.
